This Hebridean influenced ankle sock is worked from the toe up with a short row toe and heel. Motifs on the instep are drawn from traditional Eriskay ganseys held by the Scottish Fisheries Museum, including Tree of Life and mock cables, with Fishing Net below the cuff, which is finished with half twisted ribbing.
Worked in the beautiful St. Ayles Wool spun specially by Uist Wool for the Gansey project from Fife fleeces including Shetland, Blue Face Leicester, Texel and Cheviot. Named after a very special geographical feature on the Eriskay coastline – Rubha Liath.
